But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:7
God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them and I will be their God and they will be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16
Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. 2 Corinthians 7:1
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Women and men are capable of doing extraordinary things because we are God’s daughters and sons. We are simultaneously lost and marred by a soul crushing disease we know as sin but we are also transcendent chosen vessels carrying the very face of God. R.York Moore
If you know you are called to be holy and powerful just as Jesus was when he lived on this earth then you are in good company. If you also simultaneously know the pull of sin and weakness equally you are not alone. I would encourage you today to not face this dilemma with the intention to try harder and be better but by reminding yourself of your identity as God’s precious child. Your loving Father is always there to help you no matter what you are facing and no matter how badly you have messed up. Don’t try harder, rather draw nearer to our Lord and allow him to work miracles in your heart and soul and mind.
Prayer: Lord Jesus I want to be like you. I want to do the things you do and speak the words you speak. Holy Spirit come fill me afresh. I choose today to follow your promptings. Father God, I rejoice in your love for me and desire to please you by simply staying close to you today. Yours be the glory, Amen.
