1 Corinthians 1:18
“For the message of the Cross is foolishness to them that are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

1 Corinthians 1:18 in the Kamula language of Papua New Guinea:
“The people who are going to the place of fire habitually say that the thing about the crossed tree is a crazy thing. But we people who are going to the sky-high place, when we think about that same crossed tree, we habitually say that it is God’s power.”

Someone in the Navy was bored and reading what books there were. Someone else took delight in revealing the end of books. One day he saw this man reading the New Testament and said, “I know what happens at the end – He dies!” The reader, quick as a flash said – “No, He dies in the middle, but He came alive again.”

Prayer: Praise God that we worship a Risen Saviour.
He’s in the world today;
We know that He is living whatever man may say.
May our testimony be that He walks with us and talks with us along life’s narrow way…..
You ask us how we know He lives, He lives within our hearts.
. (adapted from hymn by A H. Ackley)
